"Word was received in Indiana on Saturday of the death in Youngstown, Ohio of J. C. Rugh, formerly a well known resident of Indiana. Mr. Rugh had been suffering from lung trouble for several years and his death, while not expected, came as a shock to his many friends.
Several months ago, Mr. Rugh, accompanied the family of his son-in-law, George W. Eppley to Youngstown, Ohio where he had since made his home. For many years she donated a general store at Greenville (*now referred to as Penn Run, Pa.)
About twenty years ago he sold his store and came to Indiana where he became superintendent of Indiana Telephone Co., remaining with that concern until it was absorbed by Huntington and Clearfield Co., after which he lived a retired life. Mrs. Rugh died in Indiana several years ago.
He leaves two children; James Rugh of Johnston and Mrs. George W. Eppley of Youngstown, Ohio with whom he made his home.
Funeral services were held at City Cemetery, Youngstown, Ohio. It is thought the body will be lifted later and brought to Indiana where it will be laid beside that of his wife."
