Verna Lois Johnson, age 91, of Bristol, TN went to be with her Lord on January 29, 2008 at her home with her family surrounding her with love.
She was born November 9, 1916 in Honaker, VA.
She was the only child of Dale Carter McGlothlin and Clara Deel McGlothlin who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Ellis Clarence Johnson. She was a member of the First Church of God on Georgia Avenue.
She is survived by her children, James R. “Jimmy” Johnson and wife Nancy Jean, Dorothy Holmes and husband Marion, Glen A. Johnson and wife Doris, Wayne Johnson and wife Darla, Ronnie Johnson and wife Kim; 9 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren
Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 6:00 PM in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don McGregor and Rev. Roy L. Branson officiating.
The burial will be held Friday at 1:00 PM noon in Shelby Hills Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Cole, Gary Holbrook, Roger Holmes, Jeremiah Johnson, Joshua Johnson and Tim Chapman.
Honorary Pallbearers will be James R. Johnson II, Ethan Glen Johnson, Kyle Beard, Cameron McCluskie and Freddie Oliver.
