Ruby H. Kirchoff, 86, of Springfield and formerly of Caledonia died at her home in Springfield on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1918, in Caledonia to Frank and Almeda (Carrier) Beranek. She married Albert R. "Allie" Kirchoff on July 1, 1941, in Winona. He preceded her in death March 27, 1999.
Ruby spent most of her adult life living in Illinois. She and her husband lived in Virden, Ill., near Springfield, since 1970. She moved to Springfield three years ago.
Ruby is survived by six nieces and nephews and their families, Donna (Verian) Craig of Hokah, Wis., Larry (Betty) Engstler of Rochester, Minn., Frank Kirchoff of Anderson, Mo., Albert (Sandra) Kirchoff, of Springfield, Ill., David (Barbara) Kirchoff of Hokah, and Leroy (Sharon) Kirchoff of East Peoria, Ill. In addition to her husband, Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Gladys Kirchoff.
Graveside services and burial will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Evergreen Cemetery in Caledonia . Pastor David Possing will officiate. There will be no other local services or visitation. Schumach-er-Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent is assisting the family.
