Charles Winfred Barton, 84,of Port Charlotte, Fla., and formerly of East Point, Ga passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014.
Charles is survived by siblings Eugene Barton of Pompton Plains, NJ; Gloria Barton Eubanks of Christiansburg, VA; and Frank Barton of Pigeon Forge, TN. Together, Charles and Glenda are survived by daughter, Miriam Barton Crawley of Woodstock, GA; son, Rev. David Barton of Haxton, Co; daughter, Charlene Barton Powell of Lithia Springs, GA; and son, Glenn Barton of Jasper, AL; thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Alfred Eugene Barton and Isabelle Mildred Lewis Barton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11 AM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 2840 Metropolitan Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30315 with interment at the Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will be receiving visitors beginning at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ministries of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Donehoo-Lewis Funeral Home, Hapeville.
