Mr. Delong's obituary appeared in the The Brooklyn Daily Eagle, November 25, 1912 and contained the following information: He died at his home, 453 McDonough St. after a long illness and operation. He was born in Jefferson, Schoharie Co., NY on April 25, 1840 and attended school there and worked on a farm. When he became of age, he moved to Athens, Greene Co., NY where he learned the trade of carpenter. He married Minerva Briggs of Athens on May 8, 1878 and moved to New York City. Later moved to New Jersey and then Brooklyn. He was a charter member member of Custer Lodge I. O. O. F., Athens, NY, Greene County Society and treasurer of the Rescue Mission on Gates Ave.
