Donald C. Worley, 56, died Thursday, Jan 8, 1987 at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, WA. He was born Dec. 14, 1930 in Alliance, Neb., to the late Harvey and Helen Worley. He grew up in Alliance and graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture at Curtis, Neb., in 1958. He served the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge he ranched with his father near Alliance, and attended the University of Nebraska, graduating in 1959. He was married to Byrdeen Carlson in Lincoln, Ne. on Feb. 1, 1957. In 1959 they moved to Yakima, Wash., and to Moses Lake in 1960. Worley owned and operated Farm Management Services, Inc. in the Moses Lake area. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Society of Farm Managers and Appraisers, the Columbia Basin Development League, and was president of the Black Sands Irrigation District. He had served on the Big Bend Community College Scholarship Committee and was a commissioner and past president of the Port of Moses Lake. Survivors include his wife, Byrdeen; son, Scott; and daughter, Kristine, all of Moses Lake; a brother, M. L. Worley, Minneapolis, Minn; a sister, Sue Downie, Pasco, Wash; nieces and nephews and several cousins in the Alliance area. Memorial services were held Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, and private committal services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Big Bend Community College Scholarship Fund.
