Richard, born to Everald and Kathrine (Carson) Morgan, graduated from Union High School in Adams City in 1945. He married Marie Campbell in Missouri in the early 1950’s and moved back to Adams County after her death in 1957. He worked as a carpenter building many buildings in the Derby area. He also owned and operated a small grocery store in La Plata, MO. He and his brother owned and operated Denver Metal Finishing, a plating shop in North Denver, until selling the business in 1985 to Kerry and Larry, then retiring in 1989. He also raised Thoroughbred Race Horses on his ranch. And he helped care for his brother's family after his passing in 1974. Survivors included Norma J. Morgan, Brighton, Kerry D. Morgan, Adams City, Larry W. Morgan, Brighton, Pam R. Allen, Lenexa, KS, Gina M. Morgan, Brighton, and Mona A. Jones, Westminster. Funeral services held June 23 at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton, followed by interment on June 27.
