HOWARD JAMES KEEHNER
Funeral services for Howard J. Keehner, 66, rural Guttenberg, were held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Garnavillo. Pastor Gary Hatcher officiated with burial at Garnavillo Community Cemetery, Garnavillo. Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Horstman, Clifford Klinge, Bernell Kuehl and Louis Tuecke. Pallbearers were Dwayne Carlson, Don Koss, Don Rohner, Evert Tuecke, Bob Walke and Allen Werges. Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Garnavillo, was in charge of arrangements.

He was born February 13, 1933, on the family farm near Guttenberg, son of W.P. and Caroline (Chettinger) Keehner. He graduated from the Garnavillo High School in 1951, and farmed with his family for many years. He served his country in the United States Army in Korea. On June 27, 1955, he was united in marriage with Sharon Siebrecht at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Garnavillo.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church; Clay-Gar American Legion; Garnavillo Boosters, and past president of the DHIA and Ayrshire Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and life itself. He died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital after a sudden illness.
