Lee K. McNatt, 84, of McAlester, died Thursday, April 24, 2014, at his home near McAlester. He was born on Oct. 16, 1929, in Dunbar to W. Arch and Maudie (Stone) McNatt. He grew up in Tuskahoma until he joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Perkins. After his honorable discharge, he moved to Soper and had worked at the former Naval Ammunition Depot and had also lived in Poteau. He eventually moved to Kansas City, Mo., and worked as a truck driver. He drove trucks for 30 years, the last 29 years for Midwest Freight. He was married to Margaret “Rete” Wilson and she preceded him in death in 1979. He then married Jane Huls on March 18, 1983, in Miami. After his retirement, they moved to McAlester in 1987. He had worked as a TV repairman and did maintenance work for Rural Water District 9. He was also a Ham Radio operator and helped the civil defense with storm watching. He had been an active member of the Shady Grove Volunteer Fire Department for several years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially pheasant hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Jane McNatt; children, Kenneth McNatt, of Overland Park, Kan., Mark Johnson, and wife, Julie of Kansas City, Kan., Tina McFerrin, and husband, Michael, of Parkville, Mo., Dennis Johnson, of Independence, Mo.; grandchildren, Angela McNatt, Blake Hackler, and wife, Brittanie, Brandon Hackler, and wife, Shannon, Brayden Hackler, and fiancé, Cathy Dodd, April McFerrin, and fiancé, Frank Sola, Sara Hummel, and husband, Curtis, Kenneth Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Leeann Johnson, and Gerald Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Bertie Huls of Independence, Mo., Richard and Donna Huls, of Lawry, Mo., Marjorie McNatt, of McAlester, Bonnie Mathews, of Lees Summit, Mo.; special niece, Carolyn McNatt, of McAlester. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; a daughter, Patricia Ann Hackler in 2010; brothers, Everett McNatt in 1987 and John McNatt, and his wife, Willie, both in 2010. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Brown, David Gillespie, Blake Hackler, O’Dale Brown, Bill Crenshaw, Danny McNatt, Ricky McNatt, Brian Johnson, Jake McNatt, Brayden Hackler, Brandon Hackler, Kenny Johnson and Daniel Johnson.
