Caroline Boettcher was born in Zimmerhausen, Pomerania, Prussia. This area now is Poland after 1945. Her parents were David Frederich Zastrow 1924-1908 and Hannah Kickhoefer/Kieckhoefer 1828-1890. They are buried in Merrill Memorial Park. Hannah's formal name is Johanna Fredericke Wilhelmine Kickhoefer/kieckhoefer. Caroline came with her parents to the USA in April 1869. They first lived in Concord, Jefferson County, Wisconsin. Caroline married Ferd Boettcher in Concord November 21, 1870. Ferd had a farm on Oak Ridge Road, Pine River, Merrill, WI. A descendant of Ferd lives on this farm still as April 2014.
