Ethel M. Lyter, 92, previously of East Penn Street, Carlisle, died on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, in Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.
Born on June 23, 1917, in North Middleton Township, she was a daughter of the late P. Parker and Mima Horn Quigley, and the widow of Charles B. Lyter, who died in 1984.
Ethel worked for J.C. Penney in Carlisle and the former Carlisle Garment Factory as a seamstress. She was a member of the National Wildlife Federation, and Ethel loved all animals.
Surviving are two sisters, Ruth Heberlig of Carlisle and Gayle Gross of Carlisle; and 14 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home and Crematory, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Walter L. Frankenberry officiating. Burial will be held in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
