Sam Jett of Rover died Sunday, October 8, 2000 at his home. He was born November 18, 1933 in Asher, OK, the son of Joseph and Ruby Thompson Jett.
September 19, 1953 he was married at Rover to Shirley Judd.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a rancher.
He was a member of Rover Assembly of God Church, Rover.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tammy Jett; and one sister, Lana Gay Bennett.
A family spokesperson related that "He loved his family, he was never too busy to spend time with his grandchildren, teaching them to ride, to drive, to work, to love and to live with honor. He will live forever in the memories of those who loved him."
Survivors include two children, Michael Jett and wife, Pam of Sikeston, MO and Paula Anderson and husband, Joe, of Rover, MO; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters which included Claude Jett and wife, Olene of Quail, TX; two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
