Ann was born May 11, 1926 to John and Marie (Moen) Berg in Hillsboro, North Dakota. She grew up on a farm in rural Hillsboro and graduated from Mayville High School. She completed business college in Fargo and worked for several years in the accounting field.
She married Francis Albertson of Garfield in September of 1953. Ann and Francis lived in California and North Dakota before returning to rural Garfield, where they farmed for approximately 20 years. Ann and Francis moved to Alexandria in 1981. Ann worked at Bethany Home for many years before her retirement.
Ann was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is fondly remembered for her quick wit, her sense of humor, her wise but unconventional words of advice, and the fact that she was just plain fun to be around. Ann was a sports fan, both as a participant and spectator. She was an avid skier, bowler and softball player. She never missed an opportunity to attend her grandchildren's baseball games, recitals and other events.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis Albertson; two sisters, Christine Kaldor and Gerda Brennan; and five brothers-in-law.
She is survived by her children, Joel of Alexandria, Kathy (Terry) Sletto of Alexandria; grandchildren, Beth (Jeremy) Hill of Savage, Jonathan Miller of Avon, CO, and Christopher Sletto of Alexandria; and great-grandson Kaiden Hill of Savage; two sisters, Ethel (Roy) Coffin and Melinda Leland, both of Mayville, ND; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Norling of Alexandria; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held June 25, at Anderson's Funeral Home in Alexandria with Pastor Harold Knutson officiating. Music was provided by Kim Byrne. Internment was at East Moe Lutheran Cemetery in rural Garfield. Pallbearers were Jonathan Miller, Jeremy Hill, Christopher Sletto, Russ Angen, Rod Angen, and Brad Angen. Honorary pallbearers were the staff of Prairie Senior Cottages who provided Ann with such kindness and loving care in her last months.
