Lester C. "Ted" Anderson, 75, of Plato Center, died Sunday, Sept. 9, in his home. He was born May 30, 1915, in Burlington, the son of Charles and Helen Seyller Anderson.
He had been a resident of Plato Cen6er for 37 years, and had been employed for more than 40 years by Illinois Central Railroad, before retiring in 1975.
He was a former volunteer for Pingree Grove/Countryside Fire Department. He was a member of Plato Center United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 288 AF&AM, of Genoa; and Moose Lodge 799 of Elgin.
Surviving are two sons, Rollyn (Diane) Anderson of Gilberts, and Douglas Anderson of Streamwood; three daughters, Kathy (Joseph) Morgan of Streamwood, Phyllis (Dennis) Jurs of Gilberts and Debby (Gary) Kaufman of Elgin; two stepdaughters, Alvera (Jack) Broadbent of Muskegon, Mich., and Donna (John) Coda of La Grange; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Donald (Dorothy) Anderson of Fort Atkinson, Wis,; and a stepsister, Edna Rise (Ray) Highland of Kenosha, Wis.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn Holcik Anderson, on Sept.. 21, 1960, his second wife, June Kurtweil Anderson, on Feb. 10 of this year; three brothers, Richard, Robert and Lloyd Anderson; two stepbrothers, Charles and Vernon Anderson; and a stepsister, Helen Ferris.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Plato Center United Methodist Church, the Rev. Ernest W. Cummings officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today in Fredrick Funeral Home, Hampshire, and in the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services. Masonic services will be at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Omission of flowers is requested, with memorials to the church.
