Fred was born Jan. 15, 1931 to Arthur Arnold and Gladys Burson Arnold in Silverton. He graduated from Silverton High School in 1948. He married the love of his life, Vivone Cantwell, on January 15, 1950 in Silverton. They were married in a private ceremony by Bro. Earl Cantwell. Fred always said Vivone was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen right up until the end. They had four children, who all attended and graduated from Silverton High School.
Born to a ranching family, Fred farmed and ranched most of his life. He trained numerous horses for the public over the course of his career. He also worked for John Deere Implement in Silverton and later worked for TDCJ for 10 years. He served as a deacon and then an elder for many years at Rock Creek Church of Christ where he was a member since 1950.
Fred was a light-hearted man who always had a joke and a smile and never met a stranger. He was an avid hunter and loved playing dominoes. He loved visits from his grandchildren and made many great memories with them fishing, horseback riding, and hunting.
He is survived by his wife Vivone Arnold; a son, Lannie (Poke) Arnold and wife Deb of Silverton; two daughters, Laura and husband Brent Mullin of Graham and Kerri and husband Tim Mercer of Tulia; nine grandchildren, Sally and husband Jason Threet of Bell Buckle, TN, Kevin Womack and wife Amanda of Lubbock, Amber and husband Steven Hays of Pampa, Abbie and husband Jeremie Piette of Flower Mound, Tay and husband Jason Jack of Tulia, Jess Arnold and wife Brittany of Weatherford, Alana and husband Michael Mears of Arlington, Matt Cannon and wife Jenna of Amarillo, and Aaron Mullin of Graham; 18 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and a brother, Walter Arnold of Silverton.
