Samuel Lee Moats, 22, Kingwood, W.Va., died Saturday, June 11, 2005, from injuries sustained in an auto accident near Swanton. Born Sept. 19, 1982, in Morgantown, W.Va., he was a son of Walter Lee Moats, Tunnelton, W.Va., and Karen Sue Moats, Kingwood.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Chad Michael Lipscomb, who was killed in the same car accident; and his maternal grandfather, Samuel Alfred Lipscomb, and one uncle Grover Lipscomb.
He was a 2002 graduate of Preston High School, where he was a member of the Junior ROTC. He attended the Howesville United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers; three sisters; his paternal grandparents, Clarksburg, W.Va.; and his maternal grandmother, Kingwood.
Friends were received at the Rotruck-Lobb Funeral Home, Kingwood Chapel, where a service was held today, Thursday, June 16, with the Rev. Rotha Hall officiating. Interment was in the Mt. View Cemetery in Tunnelton.
