Charles Vernard Cook, age 91, passed away at Malcom Randall V.A. Medical Center in Gainesville, FL on July 8, 2012. He was born on April 21, 1921, in Port Lambton, Ontario, Canada to Vern and Anna Cook. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a maintenance supervisor for the Ford automotive company. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Don (Mary) Cook, James Cook; daughter, Diane (Wayne) Smith; and grandchildren, Patrick Smith, Erica Smith and Jake Mace. Funeral services were held on July 13, 2012 at the Chapel In The Meadows. Burial followed at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central in Gainesville.
