Galelah Montez Dowell, age 81, of Fairland, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at her home. She was born on November 15, 1932 in Afton, Oklahoma the daughter of Marvin & Ethele (Ward) Kinzer.
She was a homemaker, spending most of her time with her family, and was even a caregiver for most of them. She was a lifetime member of the Disable American Veteran's Lady's Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by her parents 12 brothers and sisters, Carl Kinzer, Delmas Kinzer, Lucille Edwards, Worthine Finney, Evelyn Stewart, Glenn Kinzer, Charles Kinzer, Wayne Kinzer, Helen Whitesell, Nora Davis and twin Bobby and Floyd Kinzer.
She is survived by 2 sons; Robert Charles Dowell of Miami, Oklahoma and Glen Dale Dowell, of Fairland, Oklahoma, 2 granddaughters, Tina Pitcher and her husband Kevin, of Miami, Oklahoma and Gena Beach, of Oak Forest, Illinois and 2 grandsons, Brent Dowell and his wife Jennifer, of Cherokee, Kansas and Marley Dowell, of Pittsburg, Kansas. Also surviving are 12 great- grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Galelah Montez Dowell will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami with Rev. Geoff Buffalo, officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Afton, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Kenny W. Kinzer, Brent Dowell, Robert Marlee Dowell, Charles Whitesell, Robert Whitesell and Kyle Greenfeather. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Dean Kinzer, Max Munson, John Williams, Billy McNellis, Joe Kinzer and W.D. "JR" Harper and Kermit Dean Kinzer.
