Lakeview
Lois Jean Hogle, age 80, of Watertown Township, Michigan (formerly of Ensley Township), passed away April 19, 2014 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. She was born on February 22, 1934, in Ensley Township, the daughter of Harry and Vera (Welch) Knox. Lois was raised in Ensley Center and graduated from Howard City High School, Class of 1952.
Upon graduation, Lois worked as a secretary in Grand Rapids. On May 15, 1954, Lois married Jack Hogle at her parents' home in Ensley Center. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards, sewing, quilting, and spending time with family. Lois was a proud member of the Wacousta Methodist Church Women's Group and served as past President, Treasurer and Secretary positions. She helped with church bake sales and funeral luncheons.
Lois is survived in death by two daughters Kristy (Dennis) Jarrad, Susan "Sue" Strahle both of St. Johns; three grand-daughters Marcie (Gerrett) Lawrence, Jacklynn Jarrad, and Kelly (Jeremy) Bussis; four great-grandchildren Rider and Reagan Lawrence, Emma and Olivia Bussis; one sister Marcia Brewer of Howard City; two nieces Pamela (Chad) Scott, and Tracy (Jeff) Darling; her church family and many friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Jack Hogle in 1997, and both of her parents Harry and Vera Knox.
A Funeral service for Lois will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, Michigan. The family will receive friends at visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of choice . A luncheon will be at the Lakeview Hough-Pontius VFW Post following the burial in Lakeview Cemetery.
