JEROME • Barbara Jean Thorpe, 75, of Jerome, passed away Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, in Twin Falls.

She was born Sept. 12, 1938, in Twin Falls. Barbara was raised in eastern Idaho and attended schools there. She married Wayne LeRoy "Tex" Thorpe, and together they raised four children. Barbara was a voracious reader. She enjoyed watching faith-promoting television shows, and she loved bowling and participated in league bowling with Tex for many years.

Barbara is survived by three children, Jeannie Disney of Pocatello, Janet (John) Sharp of Jerome and Duane Thorpe of Jerome. She is also survived by five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Clare Snoozy and Terry Randall; two brothers, Wayne (Emma) Wheeler and Bill Ford; and many extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tex Thorpe; their son, George; her grandson, Kenny; her granddaughter, Melissa; and two brothers, Jim Wheeler and Rick Anderson.

A visitation will be held Thursday evening, April 24, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S. Lincoln in Jerome, where family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, April 25, at the Jerome Cemetery, 901 W. Ave. I in Jerome.
