Bazil Loraine Snyder, 59, of Meadowvale, and formerly of Bridgewater, passed away suddenly Friday, July 24, 2009, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born at Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Maxwell and Marie (Himmelman) Snyder. Bazil was a fisherman for 32 years and operated the scallop dragger "Jennifer Boys" out of Digby. He later drove Town Taxi in Bridgewater. Lately, Bazil had been employed with Direct Traffic Control, contractor for First Communications Eastlink. He was part of a team of control personnel that consisted of his companion, Jannette Steadman and other co-workers. Bazil is survived by several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Marjorie Snyder and brother, Vernon. By request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater, Rev. Deacon Don Boudreau officiating. Donations in memory may be made to Digby Ground Search and Rescue or a charity of choice.
