Peter Huber, 68, Wisconsin Rapids, died unexpectedly Friday, March 2, 2007, in the town of Grant.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Andrew Karoblis will officiate. Burial will be at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Altdorf.

Peter was born January 1, 1939, in Wisconsin Rapids to Alphonse and Harriet (Dupee) Huber. He married Judith Ann Krause on July 2, 1960, in Altdorf. He attended Maryheart Country Day School in Pittsville and graduated from Maryheart High School in 1958. He then attended North Central Technical College in Wausau to study auto mechanics. He graduated in 1960. Pete worked as an auto mechanic for Montgomery Wards in Wisconsin rapids and was auto service manager there from 1967 until the shop closed in 1980. He then went to work for Consolidated Papers in 1981, retiring in January 1999. Peter also enjoyed spending time outdoors working his land.

Peter was first and foremost a family man. He was always so proud of his sons and daughters and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandson. Their memories of grandpa will always be recalled with a smile.

Peter is survived by his wife, Judith; five children, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two sisters, and two brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Russell, and brothers in-law, Gehr Jorgensen, Sig Heis, Daniel Krause, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emil and Rose Krause.

Friends may call at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. A parish prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
