The daughter of Seymour Alfred and Ethel (Richardson) DeMarce, she was born in Pepin County. She married Samuel Richard Wakefield on June 4, 1936 in Arkansaw. They farmed in the Arkansaw area until 1943 when they moved to Menomonie.
Norma was a professional cook and was employed by several area restaurants and supper clubs until her retirement in 1976.
She is survived by three daughters, Kay Kundy, Edgewater, Judy Wagner, Littleton, CO and Jane Weber, Menomonie; a son, David, Dallas, TX; a brother, Wayne DeMarce, Hastings, MN; a sister, Vera Helgeson, Menomonie; and by 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel and a brother, Lyle DeMarce
Funeral services were January 13 at Arkansaw United Methodist Church, Rev. Phyllis Averill officiating. Spring burial will be in the Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Goodrich Funeral Home, Menomonie, and from 10 a.m. until service at the church.
