Born Feb. 25, 1925, at Smoke Hole, he was a son of the late Lottie Mae (Alt) Reel.
Mr. Alt retired from Seneca Quarries. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the DAV.
Surviving are two sons, Ralph Alt and wife Shannon, and Wes Alt, all of Burlington; two daughters, Linda Dineen and husband Ralph, Little Falls, N.Y., and Connie Adams and husband Paul, Burlington; one stepdaughter, Cathy Riggleman and husband Carl, Burlington; one brother, Charles J. Reel, California; three sisters, Irene Berg and Ann Hesse, both of Maysville, and Louella Rodgers 1929-2008, Annadale, Va.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lyle Berg officiating.
At Mr. Alt's request, his body will be cremated.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department, Burlington, WV 26710.
