Richfield, Utah - Our kind and beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Forrest Herman Adison, age 79, died April 20, 2014 at his home in Richfield, after a brave battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

He was born October 15, 1934 in Shonto, Arizona, a son of Fred and Mae Calamity Adison.

He attended the Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon, graduated in 1954. He served his country in the US Army from 1954 to 1956.

Forrest married Esther Jones, July 27, 1957 in Salem, Oregon. She died January 7, 1999.

Forrest has been living in Richfield since 1968. He enjoyed calf roping, team roping, leatherwork, silver smithing, jogging and reading.

He is survived by his children: Forrest H. and Rita Adison, Jr. of Castle Dale, Utah; Ernestine J. and Donald Crank of Payson, Arizona; Sylvia J. and Steve Nielsen of Monroe, Utah; Sophie Z. Adison and Eugenia A. Adison, both of Richfield; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother: Grace Yazzie, Alice Adison, Russell and Julia Adison, all of Shonto, Arizona; Ruth and Sam Yazzie of Sanders, Arizona; Emma and Larry Watts of Fort Defiance, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; parents, Fred and Mae Adison; two sisters and two brothers: Helen Herder, Rose Adison, Mike Adison and David Adison.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 12 Noon in the Richfield 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 985 South 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8P.M. or Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services.

Burial with military honors accorded by the VFW Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
