William Abbott Sr. of Deptford died Tuesday, April 1, 2014. He was 76.

Mr. Abbott was the husband of the late Kathleen Gladys (Brooks). He was the father of William Jr. of Blackwood, Linda M. Sherry (Bruce G.) of Woodbridge, Va., and Baron G. of Deptford. He was the stepson of Ralph Essick of Boyertown, Pa. He was the grandfather of six, and great-grandfather of five. He was the brother of John Abbott of Kissimmee, Fla., Dorothy Manley of Manassas, Va., and the late Deloris Abbott. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Abbott was a mechanist at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Lechner Funeral Home, 24 N. Main St., Medford, where the viewing will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Junior Mechanics Cemetery, Tabernacle.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Abbott's name may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
