Art worked at Bethlehem Steel in Lackawanna, New York and Burns Harbor, Indiana for 43 years and he retired in 1982. He lived in Buffalo, N.Y. until 1965 when he, his wife and children moved to Valparaiso, Indiana. He lived in Valpo until 1995 before moving to Huntington County for the remaining years of his life.
Art was a WWII veteran in France and Germany; he served in the Signal Corps, 20th Armored Division.
