Kaszynski, Kyle M . Age 39 Of Elmwood, Wi. Died December 22, 2005 in Iraq. Member of St. Paul Police Department. Graduate of Washburn High School '84 and the University of Wisconsin Plattville '89, with a degree in Criminal Justice. Survived by wife, Kristen; daughter, McKenna; A roadside bomb in Baghdad has killed a St. Paul police officer working for a private security company in Iraq.

Officer Kyle Kaszynski was part of a convoy escorting correctional advisors through a checkpoint on the way to Baquba, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device went off this morning, according to St. Paul police.

Kaszynski was in the last vehicle passing through the checkpoint. The bomb also killed another security agent and seriously injured three passengers in the truck, police said.

In October, Kaszynski took a leave of absence from the police department, which he joined in 1998, to work for Knoll Inc.

St. Paul police officers will be wearing mourning bands in honor of Kaszynski, who was married and had a 2-year-old daughter.
