John Roland Baldwin, 85, a former Blackfoot resident, died Saturday April 26, 2003 in the Madison Memorial Hospital following cancer.
He was born April 3, 1918 at Blackfoot, to Roland Jex Baldwin and Eliza Jorgensen Baldwin. He grew up in the Blackfoot-firth area attending Blackfoot, Lower Presto School and graduating from Firth High School.
He served in the Army Air Force during WWII in New Guinea and the Phillipines.
He married Vera Mae Thompson at Dillon Montana on April 12, 1945.
They made their home in the Teton City area where he worked for many of the local farmers including Arnold Bingham, Ern and Harold Siddoway and Byron Ward.
He enjoyed the outdoors including hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Vera, Teton: children Sandra L. (Blair) Owens, Boise. Martin J. (Larale)Baldwin, Spokane, Wa. Two brothers Stanley Baldwin, Bothel, Wa. and Ken Baldwin, Glendora, Ca. Four grandchildren and six g-gran-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one granddaughter and one grandson.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m. in the Bidwell Funeral Home with Stan Simpson, officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the time of service.
Burial will be in the Good Shepherd Cemetery, Fort Hall.
