He was born Sep. 16, 1911, in the Asher-Wanette area to Tecumseh Sherman and Rachel (Earls) Alsip. He married Ruth French in Wewoka in 1934.
He worked as a locomotive engineer in the Sacramento Division of Southern Pacific Railroad for 33 years. He retired in 1975 and lived in Idaho, then moved to Eufaula in 1985.
Preceding him in death were four brothers, Carl H. Alsip, Corbett Alsip, Eldon Alsip and Truit Alsip; and five sisters, Effie Everett, Zula Villines, Goldie Meyers, Nettie Henry and Winnie Villines.
