CARTER, Jerry Funeral services for Jerry Kinvard Carter, 83 of Cookeville will be held Saturday, January 15 at 11 A.M. from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Homer Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Lee and Rev. Bobby Sebastian officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Sand Springs Memorial Gardens. Mr. Carter was retired from General Motors. Prior to moving to Cookeville he was a long time member, deacon and song leader at Grace Baptist Church at 142 Olive Road in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Carter was a US Army Veteran of World War II having served in the Battle of Manila. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta Welch Carter and three brothers, Hubert, Moran and Weaver Carter. He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Jerry and Betty Carter of New Lebanon, Ohio, James and Linda Carter of Cookeville, Duane and Rhonda Carter of Crossville and Gary and Chanda Carter of Millborne, Alabama, daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Robert Williams of Cookeville, one brother, A.J. Carter of Merritt Island, Florida, sister Juanita Randolph of Clearwater, Florida, sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Jones of Cookeville, 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Mr. Carter's family will receive friends Friday, 5 until 8 PM and Saturday 10 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
