Winona Beck, 93, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet. Winona was born June 3, 1920, in Slidell to William C. and Alta Villa Franks. She came from a large family raised on a farm, being one of 13 children. She loved to work in her flower garden. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Winona was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Calvin Beck; and one daughter, Nancy Carolyn Bell. Survivors: Sons, Ronnie Beck and wife, Jennie, Kenneth Beck; daughter, Winnie Beck McIntire; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; five sisters; and one brother.
