C. A. "Snipe" Hamilton, 82, died Saturday at McAlester Regional Hospital. Services will be Monday at 10:00 at the Bishop Chapel of Memories with Rev. Burrel McNaught officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Dominic Silva, Lamar Galloway, Clif Hensley, Bill Rogers, George Finamore and Tom Lomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Berger, D. A. Keeter, Curtis Lee, Joe Shield, Massie Silva, Jim Steward, Joe Fabry, Joe Ogiela, Marion Lenardo and John Tapscott, and all coffee drinkers at JoAnn's Lunchbox. Mr. Hamilton was born September 22, 1909 in Booneville, Ark., and lived all his life in the McAlester area. Snipe and Edith Ferando were married in 1936 in Krebs. He owned and operated a Conoco service station in McAlester for 50 years until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church and McAlester Elks Lodge #538. Survivors include his wife Edith of the home; two daughters and sons in law, Alyce and Terry Gray of Sapulpa and Mary Lou and Charles McLarty of Richardson, Tex.; two granddaughters, Natalie Gray of Sapulpa and Robyn Trecker of Lewisville, Tex.; one grandson, Tracy McLarty of Dallas, Tex. and one sister, Zelpha Baier of Corvalis, Or. Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Burks and by a sister, Gwen Joyner.
