Leonarda Maliszewski was born September 7, 1921 in Belarus, the daughter of Jan and Anastasia Maliszewski. She was united in marriage to John Nykoluk in May of 1947 in Germany. He preceded her in death in 1996.
She had many stories to tell of her childhood. When she was a young adult she spent time in a war camp working for the Germans. She was a strong woman to survive those years. In 1951 she came to America with her husband John and son Anatoli.
Leonarda was a homemaker and loved gardening, cooking, baking, raising animals and was an avid collector.
Survivors include her son Anatoli "Tony" (Anna) Nykoluk, Davenport; daughter Marysia (Tom) Wronka, Key Largo, FL; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a great great granddaughter.
