Erma Arlene Abram 81, of Bloomington passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

She was born on August 5, 1942 in Bloomington, Indiana the daughter of Winfred Mitchell and Naomi Irene (Hendricks) Abram. Erma was a 1960 graduate of Solsberry High School.

She worked for Indiana University in the purchasing department for over forty years before retiring in 2004.

Erma was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ in Solsberry. She loved the Lord and her church. Her faith was the center of her life. She was an amazing sister, aunt and friend, and she loved her family dearly. Erma enjoyed spending time with all of her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Some of her favorite things to do where shopping with her sisters, traveling with friends, walking at the YMCA, and going out to eat with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Erma is survived by her brother, Keith (Sherry) Abram of Hendricksville; her two sisters, Janet Burks of Solsberry and Karen (Paul) Finch of Bloomfield; her nieces and nephews: Bart Abram, Kelly Finch, Sherry Mitchell, Lindsey Baker, Rachel Prince, Ben Abram, Sarah Gettie McNeill, and Jennifer Burks; many great nieces and nephews; and an array of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfred and Naomi Abram; her brother, Larry D. Abram; and her brother-in-law, Robert D. Burks.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, October 2, 2023 at the Liberty Church Of Christ, 12884 McVille Rd Solsberry, with Rev. Keevan Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 12:00pm to service time also Monday at the church.

Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
