OBERLIN, Ohio — Elzena Marie Goodson Adkins, age 76, of Oberlin, formerly of Grandview, W.Va., passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010.

Born on July 17, 1934, at Abraham, she was the daughter of the late William Goodson and Lottie Mae Harrah Goodson.

Mrs. Adkins was a homemaker, and had made her home in Oberlin, Ohio, for the past thirteen years. She was Pentecostal faith, loved reading, watching old movies, and had a great love of gospel music. Mrs. Adkins especially enjoyed spending time with her baby kitty-cat, "little one."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Lou Adkins, and by a son, Ronald Dean Adkins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Samuel Ray Adkins and his wife Darlene of Patrick, S.C., Judy Lynn Kruse of Strongsville, Ohio, Richard Wayne Adkins of Amherst, Ohio, Arnold Dale Adkins and his wife Donna of Elyria, Ohio; three brothers, Carl Goodson and his wife Dorothy of Oceana, W.Va., Billy Ray Goodson of Oceana, W.Va., and Willie Goodson and his wife Dottie of Brunswick, Ohio; four sisters, Louella Willis of Beckley, Emma Whitecotton of Cleveland, Ohio, Margaret Dugger and her husband Bill of Mt. Hope, W.Va., and Genetta Honaker and her husband Marvin of Union, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Sandbranch Worship Center at North Sandbranch, W.Va., on Friday, November 19, 2010, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ken Souder officiating. Burial will follow at the Grandview Cemetery at Grandview.

Friends may call at the church from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
