Alvin Heistand Allen, 84, died Sunday Nov. 14, in Lebanon after an illness. Allen was born in Marion County Nov. 18, 1925. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Charles W. and Martha Price Allen; a brother, John "Cooch" Allen; and sister, Mary Allen Alford. Survivors include: a daughter, Linda Nally of Lebanon; one grandson, Craig Bishop of Raywick; and two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Gwen and Andy Mattingly of Calvary, Gevette and Jodie Riggs of Lebanon; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in Mt. Washington Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Robbie Harmon and Bro. Lee Arnold officiated. Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
