Paul E. "Gene" Topper, 79, entered into God's eternal care on Friday, April 18, 2014, at Hershey Medical Center. Born February 15, 1935, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Paul W. and Alice A. (Orendorff) Topper. Paul was a member of Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, McSherrystown, and the McSherrystown Senior Center. Surviving are two sisters, Mary Alice Forbes and her husband, James of McSherrystown, and Rosalie A. Van Scyoc and her husband, Darrell of Shippensburg; one niece, Michele Zigler; and two nephews, Douglas Forbes and Brian Van Scyoc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Annunciation Church, 26 N. Third St., McSherrystown, with the Rev. Lawrence W. Sherdel celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
