Dora Nell Ockey Shaw, 74, passed away November 2, 2001 at her home in Nephi after a long battle with illnesses
She was born Dec 10, 1926 in Nephi, UT to William Joseph and Martha Pearl Jones Ockey. She married Earl Louis Shaw June 18, 1944 in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in 1989.
She lived in Nephi her entire life and was educated in the Nephi School System. She worked at Thermoid Rubber Plant, Nephi Bakery, and Catalina Sportswear Plant. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dora was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, going to their activities, watching the Utah Jazz, and music. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Dora is remembered as a wonderful, caring, and giving person with a great sense of humor,
She is survived by her son, Earl Merrill (Mary) Shaw; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Dustin, Trevor, Danielle, McKenzie, all of Nephi; sister, Emma Carter, Nephi; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband, Earl; parents; brothers, Paul and Donny Ockey; sister, Janet Ockey.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tues. Nov 6, 2001, Nephi LDS 8th Ward chapel, 222 S. 100 E. Friends may call 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment, Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi.
