Connell D. "Al" Feussner, age 76, resident of Shelby died Thursday, June 10, 2010 in MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness.

Born August 19, 1933 in Mansfield to DeWayne and Ola (Davis) Feussner, he had been a Shelby resident since 1960. A 1951 graduate of Mansfield Sr. High School he attended the Ohio State University.

Al had been employed as a draftsman with the former AMF, Autocall, Flexble, and Otterbachers retiring from Minnich Mfg. Co. in 2009.

He was a member of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church and had served as city councilman in Shelby.

A consummate actor, he enjoyed performing with the Blackfork Player's and Mansfield Playhouse. He also enjoyed playing golf, chess, backgammon and helping his wife with crafts.

Survivors include his wife, Jayne (Shepherd) Feussner, whom he wed February 4, 1961; his children, Elizabeth (Charles) Clark of Shelby; Katharine (Tom) Sabourin of Ontario; James Feussner of Shelby, and John (Linda) Feussner of Shelby; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, DeWayne (Bessie) Feussner and Ola Hazard, his aunt and uncle, Joe and Bernice Michalski.

Memorial services will be held 7:00 PM Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby with Reverend Dawn Donato officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Feussner family.
