Leroy K. Torrance, 47, died Monday at Mary Emaculene Hospital in Jamaica, N.Y., after a short illness. He was a native of Chatham County but had lived in New York most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith. He was employed by the Department of Transportation for New York City, N.Y. and was a United States veteran having served in the Vietnam War.

Survivors include one daughter, Kelly Torrance, Brooklyn, N.Y.; one son, Troy Torrance, Brooklyn, N.Y.; his mother, Clearie K. Barnes, Statesboro; one sister, Annette Prince, Statesboro; one brother, Charles Torrance, Patterson, N.J.; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of James R. Barnes Mortuary with the Rev. Craig Tremble officiating. Burial will be in Cone Cemetery in Stilson.
