YOUNG MAN KILLED BY PLAYMATE'S GUN
Stanley Auld, aged 17, of 306 Larimer avenue, Woodlawn, was shot thru the head and instantly killed Sunday afternoon in a room on the second floor of his home.
David Helms, aged 18, his step-brother, told the police that he and Stanley were playing with the rifle and that in some manner the gun was discharged. He did not know that the gun was loaded, was the claim. The rifle was 22-calibre.
Chief of Police M. J. Kane of Woodlawn, who investigated the affair, said this morning that he believed that the shooting was accidental. The two boys were nearly the same age and were companions. Coroner John M. Jackson was notified and will probably hold an inquest.
