Kathleen 'Kate' Heiniger, age 92, of Wapello and formerly of rural Oakville, died Thursday morning, April 17, 2014, at the Wapello Nursing &Rehab Center. The daughter of Troy and Nellie Weghorst Lutz, she was born on July 12, 1921 in Burlington. She married Clem E. Heiniger on March 2, 1941 at Oakville. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2007.
Kate was a homemaker on the farm. She enjoyed gardening, having company, was a good cook and loved family meals. She was never unhappy and was simply always cheerful. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church at Mediapolis and the Friendly Circle Club.
