Their first four children were born in England: Hannah, Isaac, Abram and Henry. They emigrated to the U.S. in 1823, settling in Pittsburg, Allegheny, PA. The following children were born there: Martha, Sarah, Jacob A., Richard, Peter and Elizabeth.
Henry was a shoe maker by occupation. In his will dated 1856, he lists his personal library as his most prized possession and lists books that he wills to each child in addition to property or cash.
