Mr. Lemuel Bennett, aged 94 years died in Atlanta on Wednesday of last week. His remains were brought to Marietta on Thursday morning and the funeral was held at the Methodist church at 9:30 o'clock, conducted by Dr. W. P. Lovejoy. Mr. Bennett was for many years a merchant of Marietta and was widely known and esteemed. He was born on December 12th, 1812, and served in the Mexican and Civil wars. He was the grand-father of Mr. J. E. Mozley of this city. After a busy active life, he has gone to his eternal reward.
