Mrs Lucia L. Morrison, who had lived in kettle Falls for the past 27 years, died at her home here April 15, after an illness extending over three years. Mrs. Morrison was born January 4, 1840, in Ohio, and was united in marriage to W.H. Morrison November 4, 1858.
They started their married life in Waukon, Iowa, and when the Civil war broke out, Mr. Morrison enlisted, leaving Mrs Morrison with two small children. She traveled with them to Pennsylvania, most of the way by stage, to reside with Mr. Morrison's relatives through the duration off the war. At the close of the war, Mr. and Mrs. Morrison again took up their residence in Waukon. They later moved to Silbey, Iowa, where they resided until they came to Kettle Falls in the spring of 1892, where they have since resided.
Mrs. Morrison is survived by one son Myron H. Morrison of Sioux City, Iowa; on brother Myron Churchill of Kettle Falls, and three grandchildren. Mrs. Morrison was a member of the O.E.S. and a past president of the Houghton Relief Corps. The funeral service was held at the Baptist church, of which she was a member, Thursday afternoon, with Rev. Alborn, pastor officiating. Interment was in Grandview cemetery.
