Mrs. Phyllis Yanchewski was a 1949 graduate of Marlborough High School and a 1951 graduate of the Addison Gilbert Hospital of Nursing in Gloucester.

Phyllis was an LPN at Marlborough Hospital for several years in the nursery at the hospital. She then later worked at local nursing homes and was a private duty nurse.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, a very proud Democrat, a longtime member of the Democratic City Committee of Marlborough and former Girl Scout leader of Troop 471 of Marlborough. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage and a true Yankee who loved New England, including the Kennedys, Martha's Vineyard and the ocean, and Lake Morey in Vermont, where they honeymooned and celebrated most of their anniversaries every year. She also loved antiquing, camping and fishing on the Vineyard.
