ULYSSES — Arlene J. McGillivray, 82, of Ulysses, died Friday, April 11, 2014, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

She was born May 3, 1931, in Garden City, to Bill and Mabel Kinsman Kiistner. She graduated from Grant County Rural High School.

A lifetime resident of Grant County, Mrs. McGillivray was a sales clerk for Kep's Toggery and a bookkeeper for Webber Supply and the ASCS office.

On July 2, 1950, she married Gerald Douglas "Doug" McGillivray in Ulysses. He died in 1974. She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include three sons, William McGillivray of Lawrence, Kelly McGillivray of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Steve McGillivray of Overland Park; two daughters, Sandy Coffindaffer of Ulysses, and Shelly Thrailkill of Bonanza, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.¬

Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses. Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery.

Visitation hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to DuGood Events, in care of the funeral home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
