Born the fourth of eight children on November 22, 1920, to Carl and Emma Lind, Annette Rose "Anne" began what she called her "wonderful life."
Anne lived in Bejou, MN where her father operated the "Bejou Merchandise" general store until April 1929 when the store burned down. With their livelihood destroyed, the family packed their possessions onto a train and began farming in Rapidan, MN.
She graduated high school in 1938 and in 1942 moved to Washington, D.C. on a whim and found work with the Navy during World War II.
She met her husband, John Francis "Jack" Dempsey, in April 1945 at Fort Belvoir and they later married in August 1946 in Washington, D.C. They lived with Jack's mother in CT for the first two years of their marriage before moving into an apartment to await the arrival of their first born, Linda. Two more children followed, Barbara and John, and the family then moved to Carousel Lane in Trumbull, CT, where she resided for 62 years.
When their children had grown, Anne and Jack enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and visited Europe several times.
Besides her three children, she is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
