Frederic M. Stoner, 73, a former resident of Valparaiso died Monday night at Amityville, N. Y., where he had resided for several years. He had been ill a year.
The decedent was born in Morgan township, Porter county, Jan. 21, 1878, a son of Henry and Mary (Hayden) Stoner. At one time he practiced law, and was also associated in the furniture business in Valparaiso with his brother, John D. Stoner, and then with the Carnegie-Illinois Steel corporation in Gary.
He married Marjorie Adolph in Valparaiso. She survives with one sister, Miss Nellie Stoner, of Valparaiso, and three nephews and three nieces. Two brothers, Dr. Gerald H. Stoner and John D. Stoner, and one sister, Mrs. Abbie Bartholomew, preceded him in death.
The body will be brought to Valparaiso and memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Bartholomew funeral home, 102 Monroe street, with the Rev. Oliver C. Starn, of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Friends may call at the Bartholomew funeral home from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursday and until time of services Friday.
